The hospital team works closely and collaboratively with service users, their families, and referrers to provide a seamless pathway from referral to discharge. Their approach is recovery focused and supported by comprehensive multi-disciplinary teams, contributing to shorter lengths of stay.
Short-term psychological interventions are underpinned by a range of therapeutic programmes alongside a comprehensive occupational therapy programme.

Hospital Facilities and Wards

Elizabeth House Hospital takes pride in offering exceptional facilities to support your journey to wellness. They understand the importance of providing a comfortable and nurturing environment for individuals seeking mental health care. The facilities are designed to ensure your well-being and comfort during your stay.

Elizabeth House Hospital features four dedicated mental health wards, offering a total of 30 individual bedrooms. This new hospital opened in 2023 and with purpose-designed and high-quality facilities to greatly enhance patient care.

These brand-new facilities include:

• Castle Ward 10 bedded female acute mental health ward
• King Ward 15 bedded male acute mental health ward.
• Swithland Unit 5 bedded male acute mental health ward

The hospital has single-sex accommodation to provide a secure and supportive environment for all our patients.

They understand the importance of privacy and personal space. That’s why each individual bedroom in the hospital comes with en-suite facilities. These facilities include a toilet and washing/shower facilities, allowing you to maintain your comfort and dignity throughout your stay.

Facilities also include communal lounges, dining rooms on each ward, and quiet rooms for relaxation and prayer. The hospital also has therapy rooms, a sports court, consulting and medical assessment rooms, meeting rooms, a coffee lounge, a conservatory, and activities kitchens.

Each of the ward areas is equipped with dedicated recreational and communal living spaces, providing a welcoming atmosphere for social interaction and relaxation. They also offer quiet spaces for moments of reflection and solitude. Each ward has its own dedicated access to pleasant external courtyards and gardens.

Admissions to Elizabeth House Hospital

Elizabeth House Hospital is for individuals who require assessment and treatment for mental health conditions. However, please note that they do not admit individuals whose primary need is physical healthcare, primary treatment for drug or alcohol dependency, or an eating disorder. To receive care at Elizabeth House Hospital, your patients must be 18 years or older.

They accept referrals from various sources and are ready to support your patient’s journey to recovery.
